Gallerium: the Curator Network

Created in March 2010 by a Social Media Consultant, the group is a platform for discussion and sharing, meeting and collaboration for curators and arts organisers of all kinds. The group also include sections for promoting events, jobs and provides an open list of all members. The group’s members range from curators, gallerists and arts managers to recruiters in the field of art.
Digital Curator Vocational Education Europe (DigCurV)

This small but active group was created in August 2011, and focuses on digital curation. It promotes the Digital Curator Vocational Education Europe (DigCurV). DigCurV is a project funded by the European Commission’s Leonardo da Vinci programme to establish a framework for vocational education and training in digital curation, launched in January 2011. DigCurV aims to address the availability of vocational education and training needed by curators in the library, archive, museum and cultural heritage sectors to develop the new skills that are essential for the long-term management of digital collections. It puts into contact various institutions and organisations around the world.

It is an online community of curators from around the world that facilitates international dialogue and exchange. Contemporary Art Curatorial Conversations

Created in March 2013, the group is an online platform set up to complement conversations and discussions from the curatorial symposium “So What, Now What”, hosted by the Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation (EHTF) in April 2013. The EHTF funds innovative projects that advance solutions to basic and enduring problems in the fields of arts, environment and learning disabilities. EHTF’s founders own an extensive collection of modern art spanning the twentieth century. The Art Programmes of the Foundation honour the founders’ artistic vision and include a programme to help artists gain the skills necessary for sustaining a successful career in the arts. They also run an award for exhibition curators, which offers support to research, redefine and push new themes in contemporary art exhibitions.

The Manchester Contemporary Curators Group

Only founded in June 2014, this dedicated group for visual art curators interested in The Manchester Contemporary is the space to watch for details on the curator programme, which is yet to be announced. The Manchester Contemporary is an invitation art fair that serves as a platform to emerging galleries and their artists and is funded by the National Lottery through the Arts Council England. The event is the only one outside London that brings together art lovers and buyers with the best of critically engaged contemporary art, in addition to offering guided tours and visitor programmes.
De Appel Curatorial Programme Alumni Network

Created in April 2012, the private group is a discussion and networking platform reserved to former participants in the De Appel Curatorial Programme in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Since 2006, the ten-month programme aims to offer young curators a condensed package of experiences and skills that can be seen as instruments to enhance the development of their professional career. The programme focuses on the history of exhibition-making, diverse curatorial practices, institution building and project management.
