Painting Conservation

Galerie Y offers special services in the restoration of paintings and consultancy in the preventive care of collections through its Painting Conservator, Lyn Yusi-Olazo.

Lyn earned her Master of Arts and Certificate of Advanced Study in Art Conservation from Buffalo State College, Buffalo, NY.  She is a member of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC) and adheres to its ethical guidelines and standards of practice.  Lyn finished her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Art History at the University of the Philippines, graduating Magna Cum Laude.   To date, Lyn has worked on paintings of Filipino masters and foreign paintings.

The painting restoration services include preliminary examination of the artwork, which will be the basis for a treatment proposal and a cost estimate. Procedures that the painting may undergo are consolidation of vulnerable paint films, mending of tears, surface cleaning, mold removal, structural improvements, varnish removal, the application of an appropriate varnish, filling and inpainting.

If you wish to consult with Lyn, you can write her through the website’s contact form or
